Last week was my school break and I got the nice surprise of Rehem deciding last minute to visit me in Tokyo. Cute places were most of our plans and Shimokitazawa was an obvious stop.
Shirohige’s Cream Puff Shop is well known for its Totoro shaped cream puffs but also sell some cute but quite expensive biscuits you can bring back home as a less perishable souvenir. If you want to sit to enjoy your pastry you can stop at the cafe uptairs, where you’ll have to order a reasonably priced drink to be able to stay.
We both took a Matcha Latte and a cream puff but we chose different fillings. Rehem chose a calssic custard one and I took the chocolate mousse one. Mine was a bit dry because of the more compact filling but really tasty.
Shirohige’s Cream Puff Shop is next to the Setagaya-Daita station but you can also walk easily from Shimo-Kitazawa. You can take your puffs to go so it could be a nice thing to bring back after an afternoon exploring the neighborhood and his numerous thrift shops.
